by Mary Urrutia Randelman and Joan Schwartz (1992)
[FROM BOOKLADY COOKS] This book has everything we love at Booklady Cooks. beautifully crafted recipes and most importantly the kinds of stories that take you away to another time and place. Mary Urrutia Randelman was born in Cuba in 1948 and left after the Cuban Revolution, when she was only 10 years old. She kept so many of her childhood memories alive and collected these recipes from friends, family and neighbors and illustrates the book with photos of life in Cuba. Definitely a book to read cover-to-cover!
This book is so rich in stories AND in amazing recipes. I stayed up late last night just reading about life in pre-castro Cuba.
