Once a month, I shopped on Friday, prepped (with the kids) on Saturday, and cooked (with the kids) on Sunday. It was also our once a month eating out extravaganza!
I froze meals in baking pans, ziplock bags and aluminum foil with directions taped on the container. For 1 whole month, all we had to do was pull the meal out of the freezer, give directions to the kids and we had amazing, healthy and fun dinners every night. The kids still remember these and one of the best times in terms of family dinners.
